Even the cheapest clothes can use an incredible amount of resources. Just making one piece of clothing consumes the equivalent of 11 bathtubs (2,300 liters) of water and emits enough CO2 (25.5 kg) to make 255 500ml plastic bottles.

Even though they are so luxuriously made and use so many resources, data shows that there are 25 pieces of clothing per person in Japan that are never worn even once a year, and every day across Japan, the equivalent of 130 large trucks' worth of clothing is incinerated and landfilled.
